The Honda CB 500 Hornet 2026 is one of the eight new products confirmed by the manufacturer for the Brazilian market<\/a>. Unveiled at the Interlagos Festival, the bike debuts in Brazil to take the place of the CB 500F.<\/p>\n

The new model incorporates an updated design and electronic enhancements, including HSTC traction control, seeking to position itself in the medium-cylinder motorcycle segment.<\/p>\n

Engine<\/h2>\n

First and foremost, the Honda CB 500 Hornet retains the 471 cm\u00b3 DOHC twin-cylinder engine that equips the CB 500F. This engine, however, generates 49.6 hp of power at 8,500 rpm and a torque of 4.50 kgf.m at 7,000 rpm.<\/p>\n

The transmission system consists of a six-speed gearbox, with management optimized by an assisted slipper clutch, which acts to prevent the rear wheel from losing grip during sudden downshifts. One of the main innovations is the inclusion of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) traction control, with the option for the user to deactivate it.<\/p>\n

Chassis and bikes of the Honda CB 500 Hornet 2026<\/h2>\n

The chassis of the Honda CB 500 Hornet is of the Diamond type, known for its combination of strength and lightness. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1,409 mm, with a balanced weight distribution of 50% at the front and 50% at the rear. The model's dry weight is 175 kg.<\/p>\n

    The front suspension is equipped with a 41 mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork, which separates the damping and spring functions on each fork. In addition, at the rear, the spring-damper assembly is connected to the Pro-Link system and offers five levels of preload adjustment. The balance of the rear suspension is made of steel.<\/p>\n

    The front braking system consists of twin 296 mm discs with four-piston Nissin calipers and radial clamping. At the rear, a single 240 mm disc with single-piston calipers is used. The ABS is dual-channel. The 2026 Honda CB 500 Hornet also has 17-inch wheels with five Y-shaped spokes, fitted with 120\/70 (front) and 160\/60 (rear) tires.<\/p>\n

    Above all, the design of the 2026 Honda CB 500 Hornet is in line with the visual identity of the motorcycles in the current Hornet range (CB 750 Hornet and CB 1000 Hornet). Its design aims to create a contrast between the volume of the fairings and tank, as well as the slimmer silhouette of the seat, sides and tail. Just like the LED headlight, which has been redesigned to optimize light distribution and visibility when cornering.<\/p>\n

    The instrument panel is a 5-inch color TFT, shared with the CB 1000R. In short, it provides high visibility, even in bright sunlight, and allows the user to customize the layout of the information display.<\/p>\n

    In terms of ergonomics, the seat is positioned 789 mm from the ground. The biconical handlebars and pedals have been designed to offer a comfortable riding posture for a wide range of statures. The fuel tank, however, has a capacity of 17.1 liters.<\/p>\n

    Price and availability of the Honda CB 500 Hornet 2026<\/h2>\n

    Sales of the 2026 Honda CB 500 Hornet are scheduled to start in June. The model will be offered in three color options: pearlescent white, pearlescent black and red. The suggested retail price is R$ 43,040, excluding freight.<\/p>\n

    The warranty is three years, with no mileage limit. The bike also has the Honda Assistance service, offering technical assistance not only in Brazil. In short, the feature also works in countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.<\/p>\n

    Finally, the maintenance plan provides for the first service at 1,000 kilometers or 6 months. Subsequent servicing should take place every 6,000 kilometers or 6 months, says Honda.<\/p>\n
