Yamaha XMAX 300 Connected launched in Brazil for R$ 37,990

Yamaha announced the arrival of the XMAX 300 Connected in Brazil at its press conference at the Interlagos Festival. The scooter, which comes to expand the brand's line-up in one of the fastest-growing segments in the country, features a new dual panel, an engine with more power and torque, as well as an electrically adjustable windshield.

Production of the XMAX 300 Connected begins in July at Yamaha's factory in Manaus (AM), and it will be available in stores in August at a suggested price of R$ 37,990, excluding freight. The scooter comes with a four-year warranty and fixed-price servicing, according to Yamaha.

Yamaha XMAX 300 Connected engine

Yamaha's new scooter is powered by a 300 cm³ liquid-cooled engine, which delivers 27.9 hp of power at 7,250 rpm and 2.9 kgf.m of torque at 5,750 revolutions. The gearbox is a CVT automatic. One of the highlights of the new XMAX 300 Connected is the traction control, which prevents the rear wheel from locking up and makes riding safer.

Yamaha XMAX 300 Connected has a new dashboard

The new XMAX 300 Connected features a new dashboard, consisting of an LCD screen and a TFT screen arranged side by side, as well as a connectivity system. Also noteworthy is the integrated Garmin Streetcross app, which displays maps and offers turn-by-turn navigation in real time.

What's more, when connected to the smartphone, the dashboard also shows the latest messages received and the music playing on the phone on its TFT display.

Through the dashboard the user can also monitor fuel consumption in real time and average consumption. The tachometer and information on coolant temperature, battery voltage and more are also displayed.

More features of the Yamaha XMAX 300

The new Yamaha XMAX 300 Connected has an electronically adjustable windshield with a button on the left handle. The lighting is full-LED, and the headlight has an X-shaped signature, similar to that of the XMAX 250 Connected. Under the seat, the scooter has a generous storage compartment that can hold two closed helmets, according to Yamaha.

Cycling

The scooter has front suspension with a telescopic fork with 110 mm of travel, while the rear suspension has 92 mm of travel. The brakes, however, have ABS on both wheels, with 267 mm discs at the front and 245 mm at the rear. The wheels are 15 inches at the front and 14 at the rear, with 120/70 and 140/70 tires, respectively.

Replacement for the XMAX 250 Connected?

According to Yamaha, the answer is no. In short: during the presentation of the XMAX 300 Connected at the Interlagos Festival, the brand stressed that its intention is to further complete the scooter segment in Brazil. In other words, the new model will coexist with the XMAX 250 Connected in the brand's product portfolio.
